St. Paul Catholic Elementary School is located at 140 William Roe Blvd in Newmarket. St. Paul CES started as a portapack in 1975 and then the current school building opened in 1978. Since opening our doors to the community in 1975, we continue to be a close knit community inspired by the Gospel and follow the teachings of our namesake. We do this by living the virtues, striving for academic excellence, and emphasizing positive mental health and well being in pursuit of the Catholic Graduate Expectations.
Our Catholic School Council and parent volunteers are an integral part of our school community. Through their support we are able to fundraise and continually give back to our students in a meaningful way.
We are a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school and our feeder High School is Sacred Heart Catholic Highschool which hosts the iRAP program. As part of the YCDSB mission, our learning model is inclusive of all learners using a range of supports.
At St. Paul CES each student learns in a faith-filled, Christ-centred learning environment providing a solid base for achieving their academic, spiritual and social potential. As strong proponents of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion at the York Catholic District School Board we believe that every child has the right to be taught in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.
Each of our classrooms is equipped with an interactive white board to enhance program delivery. Our teachers support STREAM Initiatives throughout our school, bringing engaging learning experiences in Science, Technology, Religion, the Arts and Mathematics. A strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills is at the forefront of our school improvement planning.
The school community at St. Paul CES is proud to be known as the home of the Panthers! Students can enjoy a variety of sports and clubs such as volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, and much more.
It is an honour and a privilege to be the Principal of St. Paul Catholic Elementary School.
Yours in Catholic Education,
E. Carafa, Principal
